MAKE A WISH

As a child,

I loved to find the “puff balls”

that sometime appeared in our lawn.

I would pick them and marvel at the intricate stars.

 

But, the best part was to take a deep breathe,

make a wish and blow as hard as I could.

Watching the stars scatter everywhere

like fairies floating through the air,

making my wishes come true.

 

Here, I try to recapture that sense of wonder,

the magic as the “fairies” float all around

bringing with them endless possibilities

and making our wishes come true!
